The Pakistani army says that a total of 12 personnel and seven terrorists have been killed in two separate operations by the security forces against extremist attacks in Balochistan.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Army says that an operation against terrorists has been completed in Cantt area of Zhob district in which five terrorists have been killed. Meanwhile, nine army personnel have also been killed in the fierce exchange of fire with the terrorists.
According to ISPR, the terrorists tried to enter the Zhob Garrison where the security personnel on duty stopped the attempt of the terrorists.
According to ISPR’s statement, “terrorists opened heavy fire in Zhob cantonment early in the morning, in the exchange of fire, the attempt of terrorists to enter the installations was foiled.”
According to Reuters, Tehreek Jihad Pakistan has accepted the responsibility for the Zhob attack.
On the other hand, ISPR says that an operation against terrorists is going on in Sui area of Dera Bugti district of Balochistan during which three security forces personnel and two militants were killed.
According to local officials, the operation was carried out in the presence of militants near Sui Town and there was an exchange of fire between security forces and heavily armed militants. ISPR says that a clearance operation is underway in the area to arrest the remaining militants.
The Pakistani army has said in a statement that the security forces are determined to thwart all such heinous attempts to destroy the peace of Balochistan and Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Senator Mir Sarfraz Bugti, who belongs to Dera Bugti, told BBC reporter Muhammad Kazim over the phone that there were incidents of extortion and kidnapping for ransom by miscreants in Dera Bugti, on which the Frontier Corps Patrolling was started in the area.
He said that due to FC’s patrolling, the miscreants’ circle was narrowing, on which they attacked the FC.
Condemning this attack, he said that not only Dera Bugti but entire Balochistan will become the cradle of peace with the sacrifices of FC.
