The Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif said during an interview in a program of the private TV channel ‘Aaj News’ yesterday that the election will be held under the new digital census, there is no justification for delaying the election and holding the election is an election. Commission has discretion.
On the other hand, about two weeks ago, Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said very clearly that the elections will be held according to the old census, i.e. 2017, although many senior leaders of the Muslim League-Nun kept saying for a while that the elections would be held according to the new census. will be according to the census, then suddenly these statements started coming that the elections will be according to the old census.
Many questions have arisen from this announcement of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. After all, what changes have taken place during the last two weeks or what circumstances have happened that the government felt the need to hold elections under the new census instead of the old one.
Moreover, if elections are held under the new census, will it be possible to hold them on time? Apparently, it is not possible that under the new census, the elections can be held within ninety days, so in such a case, will the caretaker government go beyond ninety days? Will it be constitutionally possible to extend the caretaker government’s term?
