Senior Vice President of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Dr. Shireen Mazari and Senator Falak Naz Chitrali were re-arrested shortly after their release from prison on Tuesday in ISLAMABAD.
The Islamabad Police reportedly picked up Mazari and Falak Naz Chitrali from outside Adiala Jail and took them to an undisclosed place.
Dr. Shireen Mazari and Senator Falak Naz Chitrali were released from custody after a ruling from the Islamabad High Court (IHC), but were promptly re-arrested.
The high court also released senior party leaders Shireen Mazari and Senator Falak Naz “immediately” after hearing their separate petitions.
While hearing individual cases, Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb gave the release orders for the PTI leaders.
Imaan Mazari, daughter of the previous minister for human rights, had petitioned the IHC to free her mother.
Meanwhile, former minister Murad Saeed has complained to President Dr. Arif Alvi about threats from the current administration in a letter. He has requested that the president pay attention to false accusations, baseless FIRs, and life-threatening pressure from authorities and handlers.
