Chatbots will soon be smarter than
An expert considered the ‘godfather’ of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has quit his job, warning of its growing dangers.
75-year-old technologist Jeffrey Hinton told The New York Times that he has resigned from Google and regrets his work in the field of artificial intelligence.
He told the BBC that some of the risks posed by AI chatbots were “quite scary”.
“As far as I understand, I can say that at present, they are not smarter than us, but I think they may be (smarter than us) soon,” he said.
