Najam Sethi, head of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s management committee, has withdrawn from the race for the PCB chairmanship.
In his statement on Twitter last night, Najam Sethi wrote that “I don’t want to cause conflict between Asif Zardari and Shahbaz Sharif.” Such instability is not good for PCB. I am not a candidate for the chairmanship in the present situation. Best wishes to all stakeholders.
It should be noted that for the past few days, speculations are common that there is a dispute between the Pakistan People’s Party and the Muslim League-Nun over the issue of Chairman PCB, and claims were made by the leaders of both parties that the Pakistan People’s Party Zaka wants to make Ashraf the chairman while Muslim League wants to keep Najam Sethi as the chairman PCB.
It should be remembered that in the past, Najam Sethi has been facing court proceedings against Zaka Ashraf on the same issue.
